Weddings FAQ

FAQ

We love weddings.

And why not? From the minute the bride walks down the aisle, her hands clutching her bouquet in blissful anticipation, to the teary exchange of vows, and the lifting of her soft, white veil... the Big Day never fails to bring out life's most beautiful moments – ones we've always loved to be a part of.

At The Bloom Room, we take great pride in creating well-crafted wedding flowers with a touch of the whimsical. Think long, trailing satin ribbons. Quirky pops of colours. And mason jars on church pews. That, and other bloomerrific treats that'll make your heart skip a matrimonial beat (or two).

Each private consultation works towards understanding your floral tastes, so we can go beyond the standard fare to customise bridal flowers that are truly yours. For a day that's truly unforgettable.

How far in advance should I schedule an appointment with you?

Generally, it will be best to meet about 3 to 6 months before your big day. That’s because we always advise that couples sort out wedding venue, gown design and colour palette first. With that, you will have a clearer idea of your list of floral requirements, and we’ll have a better idea of how to design our blooms to complement your colours and theme. It also means that your session with us can be more fruitful and efficient.

I’m an early planner. Can I schedule an appointment earlier?

We advise against scheduling a first meeting beyond 6 months from your wedding date. From our experience, there will always be changes in the wedding planning along the way. So it is best if you meet us only after major decisions like venue, gown and number of guests have been made.

Also, flowers are seasonal. We will not be able to advise on the type of flowers available so far before your wedding date.

Please note that priority for appointments will be given to bridal couples with earlier wedding dates.

If your wedding date falls in the same year, you may go through our Rate Card for price references.

If your wedding is happening next year, please wait for our Rate Card to be published (usually in the last quarter of the year). We do not accept bookings until our Rate Card is out - so please don't worry that you might miss out on booking us!

If I put down a deposit with you this year for my next year's wedding, am I still going to be subjected to next year's rates?

Nope, we'll keep to this year's rates for you! Yay!

What can I engage you for?

We specialise in small, intimate weddings. So come to us if you need personal flowers or venue decor for solemnisations and restaurant receptions. We take on banquet decor on a case-by-case basis. If you require banquet decor, please work with your hotel florist instead as we prefer not to add on to another florist's work (due to potentially clashing styles, non-matching flower types used that may affect the overall look).

What should I prepare for our first meeting?

2) Wedding Theme & Colour Palette

Many couples think that they can just walk in, go through our portfolio and find something they like. But that would just be limiting your options! Do some research online and bring along any magazine tears, pinned Pinterest images, colour swatches or even a soft copy of your wedding invitations. With these, we can quickly tell you whether we can replicate the look using flowers available locally or toss up new ideas based on the look you’re going for.

I want to check out photos of the weddings you’ve done too. Where can I view them?

You can view photos on our Facebook, Instagram and this website.

Why don't you have wedding packages?

We prefer not to constrain bridal couples to wedding packages, which always include items that they do not require. Besides, our prices are transparent with no hidden costs. So, we'll be happy to give you a detailed quote for your big day.

I only need the bridal car decor - is that okay?

Usually, we take on bridal car decor only if we're also crafting the rest of the personal flowers to ensure a well-coordinated look. If you do not need any personal flowers from us, it may be better for you to work with the florist who will be working on your personal flowers. If you still prefer us to do it, we will need to check our schedule to see if we can accommodate just the bridal car decor.

Can you hold my wedding date for me while I consider?

We won’t be able to secure the date without a 50% per cent deposit. If another bridal couple happens to put down a deposit for the same wedding date, we will have to give the date to them – even though you’ve already come for a first meeting with us.

Yay, I’ve decided on The Bloom Room! How can I secure my wedding date?

We have a small, dedicated floral team and do not take on more than 2 weddings a day. This is why we are often fully booked on popular dates. So, once you’ve decided to go with us, please make a 50% deposit to secure the wedding date. The balance will be due the week of the wedding.

What’s next after I put down a deposit?

Once you put down a deposit, a second meeting will be scheduled. This will typically take place 3-4 weeks before your wedding. Meanwhile, we can continue to discuss over emails – and we will strive to attend to you as soon as we can. However, during peak season, it may take a bit longer for us to get back to you as priority for replies will also be given to couples with earlier wedding dates. We seek your understanding in this.

Why can't I liaise with you via WhatsApp or SMS?

We prefer to communicate via email because it's more organised and efficient. As we will read through the entire email thread before we work on your wedding, this actually minimises any possibility of misunderstandings or mistakes.

Also, we're a small outfit and do not have a dedicated customer service team. With our hands full from crafting flowers or serving walk-in customers, we are simply unable to hold real-time chat sessions with you (trust us, we've tried!). That's why emailing us at flowers@bloomroom.sg works best.

For urgent queries or requests, please call our shop at 6447 0217.

When am I required to pay the balance?

You will need to pay the full amount before the date of the wedding (ie by the time you collect the flowers). But our recommendation is that you make payment of the balance amount during the week of the wedding, as this is usually when the list of wedding floral requirements are final and fixed. Also, paying in advance means that you don’t have to rush to pay when you are collecting the flowers a day before your wedding.
