We've Moved Into Joo Chiat!

There’s a reason why we’ve been a little quiet on the webstore lately…

We’ve just moved into a brand new space in the heritage neighbourhood of Joo Chiat!

For two years, we sent out floral orders from our industrial workshop in Eunos. But more and more customers were choosing to self-collect their bouquets. We also had bridal couples asking to drop by to discuss their wedding flowers. That was when we realised it was time to take the plunge and invest in a brick-and-mortar shop.

And when we discovered the tiny, triangular space in JK Centre, everything clicked. We loved how it was situated in the heart of Joo Chiat, a neighbourhood where I spent my childhood. In those days, I played with the neighbours’ kids in the back alleys of Joo Chiat Terrace, even in the stifling afternoon heat. We plucked guavas from trees, drew hopscotch lines with coloured chalk and deposited paper sampans into longkangs on rainy days.

My grandma, who is no longer around, used to wake up in the wee hours of the morning to cook her signature prawn noodle broth in a makeshift kitchen right in our backyard. I used to go with her to the wet market for all the ingredients – and we went on a trishaw. Then, I would join her at work in the kopitiam that is now AlibaBar.

It was the perfect kampong childhood.

And why I chose Joo Chiat to set up shop in.

No other place would have been right.

I’ve come home.
